Lds come thou fount
Oh to Grace, how great a debtor. When I sang this, I look back over my life and see it is truly His grace that got me through. This Grace is Christ coming to us as our very life and enjoyment. He takes us through the difficult times. It is by this that we can choose to follow him.
Come thou fount of every blessing
I was blessed to know Christ as grace at a very young age, even before I understood it. It was Grace that put me in a Christian home and a wonderful church. As I grew older in high school and collage, it was Christ that constrained me and kept me away from so many damaging things. Now it is still Him that makes me willing to suffer loss to pursue Him.
The pull of sin is strong even for the redeemed and so we are admonished often in scripture to guard our hearts and minds so as to align our affections, our thoughts, and behaviors with Christ. A classic favorite of mine. Prone to wander, but God Himself draws me back to Him, time and time again.
